In my photographic practice I primarily create images in a studio setting, allowing me to control the environment, use many types of lighting and create sets. These images that I produce defiantly fall into the Art photography genre; they are part of a project or series with a meaning behind it. Nevertheless, I do focus heavily on aesthetics of my images, which in turn gives them a commercialised look to them. Using this style and the skills of my previous projects, it a simple change of what I am photographing, a product, and the audience the image is trying to target. I am not limited to a studio setting, I have done many location shoots, where I have to adapt to constant change in lighting, which has allowed me to think quickly when a problem occurs and modify a plan to suit the situation.
I have experience in event photography, capturing images of the decorated room before the event begins to be used in a brochure to advertise events taking place for the establishment. Along with photographing attending the event, snapping candid images of moments and the attendees enjoying themselves. I have had to develop my skills of weaving between people, the ability to quickly snap a good shot and taking photos from afar, in order to produce better event images and avoid making the attendees feel on edge because there is a camera around. Being unnoticed whilst photographing people at an event gives the images a more relaxed and real photograph, opposed to a posed and forced image, when people notice the photographer.
